UK fire regulations and safety standards are amongst the highest in the world. Beds used in hotels, guesthouses, hospitals and other ‘contract’ environments, must meet the British Standard BS7177:2008 (Source 5 Medium Hazard).

Under the Source 5 standard the test specimen is subjected to a Crib 5 test, which must self extinguish within 10 minutes and cease smoking within 60 minutes. The flames should not penetrate the full thickness, or reach the extremities of the test specimen.

All our mattress specifications have been tested to meet this standard, and certificates are available on request.
